Men Shoes that Turn Women Off

Continuing on my series “Shoes Men Must Have“, I would like to talk to you today about “Shoes that Repel Women.” There are three specific types of shoes that we’re going to cover. There are probably more out there, but if you attempt to wear or even buy any of these three kinds of shoes it will be as though you’ve sprayed yourself with a repellent designed to drive away women. That’s probably not something you want, especially if you’re single and looking for a girlfriend. I make a point not to own any of these shoes, because I’m not interested in frightening away women, and I recommend you follow my lead.

NEW BALANCE 407s AND 409s

The first pair of shoes we’re going to talk about are the New Balance 407s or New Balance 409s. You might have seen these somewhere, probably because your dad owns a pair, or maybe because some of your dad’s friends own pairs. These shoes scream “I just turned forty, I’m in a midlife crisis and I’m going to wear these forever in a misguided attempt to reclaim my lost youth.” Don’t be that guy. I’ve seen girls literally cringe when they see someone under the age of thirty wearing these shoes, and it honestly it doesn’t get better if you’re over thirty or even forty. If you’ve been through a divorce and are trying to get back into the dating game, or if you’re even remotely worried about appearing attractive to your wife and keeping the spark in your relationship going, you should never wear these shoes.

Steve Jobs New Balance

I don’t care if you’re Steve Jobs, you still shouldn’t wear them. In the movie “Crazy, Stupid, Love” Ryan Gosling throws Steve Carrell’s 407s over the side railing of a mall, which is probably the best thing that could have happened to him. Seriously, don’t wear these shoes if you’re not interested in having women avoid you at all costs.

RUBBER CROCS

Man-wearing-crocs

Now we’re going to talk about Crocs. Who ever thought it was a good idea to make these things? Why are they so popular? Why do people wear them? Why do people humiliate their kids by making them wear them? The only time you should even consider wearing a pair is if you’re a nurse and need to be on your feet all day, but you need to give up all aspirations of personal style first. If you’re a man and you’re wearing Crocs you’re just not a man. There’s no reason in the world for you to wear Crocs. I don’t care if you’re just stepping outside to check the mailbox, because it only takes a second to slip on a pair of ordinary shoes. Crocs are made of rubber. Burn them.

DIRTY, GRUNGY SHOES

The third entry in our list isn’t a specific style or brand of shoe, but is simply any shoe you own that is dirty or grungy, doesn’t look clean or neat, and just generally makes you look bad. Shoes like this are a huge turnoff for women. They hate meeting a guy and then looking down and seeing dirty shoes, as though he just walked through a mud puddle before coming into the bar. You’ve got to realize that shoes like this make you unattractive and are killing your chances to hit if off with women. Stop wearing them. Invest in nice pair of shoes. There are so many resources out there to help you dress yourself properly, and so many affordable options, even for people on a budget, that there’s simply no reason to go on looking shabby and unkempt.

Let’s recap. New Balance 407s or 409s? Never wear them. I’m not saying that New Balance makes bad shoes, because they have some sweet-looking running shoes and some really cool sneaker-head style shoes, but the 407s and 409s make you look as though you just stepped out of a retirement home. Number two? Any type of Croc. I don’t care what it is. Don’t wear it. And three? Any type of dirty, grungy-looking, nasty shoe. If you have a pair of these throw them away, invest in a new pair and start fresh. Shoes are very important for making a good impression with women, and avoiding these three types of shoes that repel women is a good start if you want to appear more suave and attractive.
